I'm feeling hopeful that this new year will begin a time of healing as Covid finally begins to wane. We are all aware of the toll that isolation and uncertainty have had on our nervous systems leading to an increase in mental health issues.
As we return to normal, you will feel the joy in returning to relationships, travel, and get-togethers. However, you might also notice fear, anger, apathy or even despair. Honor whatever range of emotions you may be going through daily as they are all valid. When we allow ourselves to feel all of it, and learn to especially soak up the goodness of joy found in connection this allows the process of healing to begin. Let me walk with you on your journey of healing as we return to "normal" together.
Within my therapy sessions, I utilize a variety of healing approaches including: EMDR,CBT, IFS and DBT, with EMDR to be the most effective. EMDR stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. EMDR is evidence-based for PTSD, however has been also shown to be effective for anxiety, depression, grief and loss, chronic pain, adjustment disorders, performance anxiety, OCD, phobias, panic, and just general challenges in life. You may be searching for ways to manage past or current life stressors.
