Counseling Approach

Everybody is inherently a genuine, growth-oriented person deserving to live a happy fulfilling life.  We tend to avoid negative thoughts and emotions by seeking safety in maladaptive behaviors that can adversely impact our mental well-being. I understand the difficulties of addressing these thoughts and feelings and the subsequent anxiety/stress it may bring with it. I will help you address those negative thinking patterns and behaviors to find healthier ways of living.

I provide a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy.  I am currently being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and attachment repair.

I have experience working with individuals ranging in age from adolescence to older adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD), bipolar disorder, relationship issues, trauma responses and adverse life events.  With these methods I will help you understand yourself and the world around you.  I will provide you with effective coping skills to improve your quality of life. I am completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Northern Colorado.
